5th Grade Materials Challenge

5th graders had so much fun this week doing their materials challenge. The objective was to be resourceful, creative, think on their feet and be flexible. They were given a box of random art materials: pipe cleaners, buttons, felt, etc. they had to chose their materials before they knew what they were making. Then they had a time limit to create their subject. After each round they had to get rid of one material. So they went from 10 to 2, minutes ticked down too! When we discussed afterwards they said they learned how to think outside the box, be creative and to be open to possibilities!
