Wassily Kandinsky Dots

1st Graders just finished a musical art project!
We studied the art of Wassily Kandinsky, an artist who created all of his art while listening to music. We read the Noisy Paintbox, which was all about his art.
Then we listened to Peter and the Wolf and painted to the music. Here are what some 1st grade artists said about listening to music while doing art:
* The music helped me to see what was in my mind.
*The music helped me think outside the box!
*The music helped me paint whatever I want.

Art Market Success!

Art Market for the Garden
The 4th and 5th grade Garden Club had a very successful Art Market for the Learning Garden. They created all kinds of art to sell at the market. The students were so busy selling their wares, giving tours and greeting the guests that the time flew by! Overall we raised $324 and 3 bags of dirt!

We had a tons of parents, students and teachers stop by to see the garden, buy art and baked goods. The kids quite literally did everything themselves!
